Catherine Dunne joined Paliare Roland as an associate after working as an articling student at the firm. Catherine has a growing civil litigation practice with a focus on labour law, administrative law, and general civil litigation.

At McGill University Faculty of Law, Catherine volunteered with the Legal Information Clinic and the Centre for Research Action on Race Relations. She also worked as a research assistant to a law professor and interned with the HIV Legal Network.

Before law school, Catherine earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Western University, where she was President of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance. Catherine graduated as the UWO Gold Medalist and a Rhodes Scholarship Finalist.

Representative Work

  • Cycle Toronto et al. v. Attorney General of Ontario et al.: Successfully acted for cycling Advocacy group Cycle Toronto and two individual applicants by preventing the Ontario government from removing the protected bike lanes on Bloor St, University Ave and Yonge St. The court found that doing so infringes s.7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (final relief: 2025 ONSC 4397; interim injunction granted: 2025 ONSC 2424; interim injunction initially denied 2025 ONSC 1650.
