Douglas Montgomery
Douglas’ practice focuses on contractual and commercial disputes, public and administrative law, and professional discipline and regulation. Douglas has appeared at every level of court in Ontario, as well as the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Douglas summered and articled with Paliare Roland, and joined as an associate in 2020 after clerking for the Hon. Michael J. Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada. Outside the firm, Douglas is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law where he teaches statutory interpretation. Douglas has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada: Ones to Watch for his work in the area of administrative and public law.
Shyama Talukdar
Shyama Talukdar is a is a committed litigator and advocate with a focus on union-side labour, employment, human rights, and administrative law. Passionate about social justice and workers’ rights, Shyama has previously worked with the Downtown Legal Services Clinic at the University of Toronto and the Advocates for Injured Workers Clinic. Shyama has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Grievance Settlement Board, as well as private labour arbitrations. Shyama joined the firm in 2022 and has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada: Ones to Watch since 2024 for her work in labour and employment law.
Kartiga Thavaraj
Kartiga is a savvy and dedicated advocate with a specialized practice focused on both infrastructure/construction and human rights litigation. She routinely represents clients in complex infrastructure, construction and civil/commercial disputes, including on public-private-partnership (P3) projects and in both arbitration and litigation, and acts in human rights and constitutional cases before the courts and at the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. With a passion for social justice and human rights, Kartiga volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario and is a member of a number of affinity groups, including the Group of Racialized Ontario Women Litigators (GROWL). She co-founded the Tamil Bar Association, serving as their inaugural President. Kartiga has been recognized since 2024 by Best Lawyers in Canada: Ones to Watch in the areas of construction law, and corporate and commercial litigation.
