Gordon Capern is a senior partner and a leader of the firm’s corporate, commercial and infrastructure litigation practices. Gordon acts for a range of significant stakeholders in complex matters and is valued by clients for his strategic approach in bringing them forward to resolution.
Consistently recognized by Chambers, Lexpert, Benchmark Litigation, and Best Lawyers, Gordon has acted as counsel in numerous high-profile commercial and infrastructure disputes.
He is a Director of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and a Governor of the International Society of Barristers.

- Rideau Transit Group (a consortium of EllisDon, SNC Lavalin, ACS and Dragados) in ongoing complex proceedings involving the Ottawa Light Rail Transit system
- Royal Gold and its subsidiary International Royalty Corporation adverse to Newmont Mining
- Numerous former senior executives of Canaccord Genuity Group in proceedings following Canaccord’s acquisition of Genuity
- Labrador Nickel Royal LP in a major claim against Vale in respect of the Voisey’s Bay Mine
- Barrick Gold in proceedings relating to the ownership of the El Morro mine in Chile
- Hollinger Inc. in claims against its auditors and its banking syndicate
- Respondents in a high-profile insider trading and tipping cases before the Ontario Securities Commission
