2/11/2008 Linda Rothstein Receives "Award of Distinction" From The Toronto Lawyers Association

The Toronto Lawyers Association has announced that Linda will be a recipient of its Award of Distinction. The Award recognizes and celebrates her outstanding advocacy, her commitment to social justice issues, her contribution to both the legal profession and the broader community and the mentoring of young lawyers. To her many friends and colleagues, Linda is a role model for women advocates who must juggle the pressure of family and professional obligations.

We are enormously proud of Linda’s accomplishments and are pleased that the Toronto Lawyers Association has recognized her many accomplishments and bestowed this honour upon her.

We extend our congratulations to the Honourable Peter Cory who is also a recipient of this prestigious award.

2/26/2008 On February 26 Chris Paliare will be a keynote speaker at the Insight 2nd Annual Corporate Counsel Forum in Toronto. Chris will be speaking on "Border Crossings - a Litigator's Perspective on Cross-Border Litigation: Some Lessons for General Counsel".
3/4/2008 Ian Roland and Nini Jones will be co-chairing a two-day conference on Police Employment in 2008: Emerging Issues and Legal Developments, on March 3 and 4, 2008. Ian Roland will be speaking on the topic of "An Association 'Agreement' with a Chief of Police About Police Discipline and its Consequences - Is it Enforceable?". Nini Jones will be speaking on the topic of "Discipline and Accommodation - Conduct that has Both Culpable and Non-Culpable Elements".
