Paliare Roland Partner Odette Soriano to Receive OBA’s Award for Excellence in Class Actions

We are pleased to announce that Odette Soriano is the 2025 winner of the Ontario Bar Association’s Award for Excellence in Class Actions. This award is conferred annually by the OBA to one of its members for exceptional achievements, distinguished service, and contributions to the development of class action law, leadership in the practice area, maintaining the highest standards of professional competence, including integrity and civility, and a commitment to the community at large.

Odette Soriano is a distinguished litigator, whose practice is focused on class actions, defamation and other complex disputes. She has an extensive track record of success in both the plaintiff and defence class actions arenas, acting on a wide range of class actions, including high profile and politically sensitive matters, as well as cases dealing with novel issues. Odette leads the class actions practice at Paliare Roland and has done so for 20 years. She is a dedicated mentor, generous with opportunities and always willing to share her experience and knowledge. In addition to her case-work, she is regularly retained by public and private litigation funders to provide independent counsel on the viability of class actions. Odette is a sought-after speaker and panelist and regularly shares her insights and balanced perspective on developments in caselaw and the need for legislative changes to the class action regime. Odette is recognized by several well-regarded legal directories and ranking agencies, including Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers, Legal 500 Canada, and by Benchmark Litigation. She has been named by Benchmark Litigation for the last four years as one of the Top 100 Women in Canadian Litigation.

Odette will be presented the award at the Ontario Bar Association’s 17th Annual Class Actions Colloquium Reception on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Toronto.
