Lauren Pearce

Lauren has a broad litigation practice, with a special interest and expertise in labour, employment, human rights, professional discipline, as well as public and administrative law.

Lauren joined Paliare Roland as a lawyer in 2016, after first working as a summer and articling student at the firm. Today, Lauren is relied upon by clients and colleagues alike for her exceptional work ethic, sound judgment, and pragmatic advice. In her labour practice, Lauren advises public and private sector trade unions, including in collective bargaining, grievance and interest arbitrations, as well as the day-to-day work of representing members. In non-unionized environments, Lauren acts for both employers and employees in resolving and, where necessary, litigating disputes at all stages of the employment relationship.

Lauren is an accomplished advocate and has represented clients before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. She is equally comfortable appearing before labour arbitrators and administrative tribunals as she is before the civil courts. Lauren is a particularly skilled written advocate, and her academic writing has been cited by both the Supreme Court of Canada (2020 SCC 30) and the Court of Appeal for Ontario (2017 ONCA 301).

Lauren is dedicated to improving access to justice and moving the legal profession forward. In her spare time, Lauren volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario, drinks coffee (black), and goes for walks in the woods with her hound dog.
