Douglas takes an accessible, transparent approach to the resolution of complex contractual and statutory disputes. His general civil litigation practice focuses in particular on class action law, employment law, and commercial law.
Douglas joined Paliare Roland as an associate in 2020 after clerking for the Hon. Michael J. Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to his clerkship, Douglas was a summer student and an articling student at the firm.
During law school, Douglas was the recipient of several awards for academic achievement, including the Canadian Bar Association’s Paul Smith Memorial Essay Award in administrative law. He was also an active participant in mooting while at law school, winning prizes in both administrative law and family law moots. In his previous career, Douglas worked on regulatory modernization initiatives at a federal Crown corporation.
