Associate

Beatrice Rutayisire

Beatrice joined Paliare Roland as an associate after summering at the firm and completing a judicial clerkship at the Court of Appeal for Ontario for the Honourable Chief Justice Tulloch, Justice Sossin, and Justice Madsen. Beatrice is building a practice in labour law.

As a law student at the McGill University Faculty of Law, Beatrice worked on matters of workplace equity and governance as a research assistant for the federal Employment Equity Act Review Task Force, and a legal intern for the human resources branch of an international organization. She has also served as a student clinician for the Mobile Legal Clinic in Montréal, supported anti-discrimination litigation at the Centre for Research Action on Race Relations, and led national outreach and communications as Director of Communications for the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada.

Prior to law school, Beatrice earned a Joint Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sociology and Anthropology (with great distinction) at the University of Ottawa and a paralegal diploma at Seneca Polytechnic. Beatrice has also worked as an HR professional and in the Ontario court system in a bilingual capacity.
