Lily Harmer is a partner at Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP and maintains a varied advocacy practice in commercial, civil and administrative law. In particular she practices in the areas of commercial disputes, professional and academic discipline, employment, pension benefits, and regulatory matters. Her practice involves her in matters before all levels of court, administrative tribunals, and government agencies.
Ms. Harmer was appointed as a member to the Financial Services Tribunal on December 1, 2004. She acts as a prosecutor for the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and is Assistant Discipline Counsel to the University of Toronto. She has acted in a number of complex insolvencies, for the City of Toronto in the Toronto Computer Leasing Inquiry, and most recently for several clients affected by the Asset Backed Commercial Paper market freeze. In addition to her prosecutorial experience, Ms. Harmer acts in defence of professionals before various regulatory tribunals.
Ms. Harmer is active in The Advocates' Society. She participates regularly as a panelist and instructor in law school and CLE programs.
Prior to graduating in law from the University of Toronto in 1989, Ms. Harmer was a practicing chartered accountant. She draws upon that experience regularly in her law practice. |
