Class Action Launched Against the 407 ETR and the Province of Ontario

UPDATE:

On April 23, 2003, the court approved the settlement and certification of the late payment fee class action as against the 407 ETR et al. As part of the settlement, the 407 ETR agreed to offer a $6.00 credit on the accounts of up to 840,000 customers. As well, anyone who had been charged the Late Payment Fee as a result of an administrative or system error was eligible for a credit of the entire $30.00 fee.

As a result of this class action, 407 ETR has committed to making improvements to its collections policies and fees.

September 5, 2003 was the deadline for the filing of any claims against the 407 ETR.
